Over the past 5 years, Vykrutas was fortunate to organize 2 successful BRAVO! performances. The inaugural BRAVO!, held in February 2020, brought together dancers from Edmonton and Calgary to showcase up and coming dancers from Junior Ensembles in the Ukrainian Canadian Dance Community. The performance strengthened our relationships with other dance groups across Alberta and fulfilled the promise of collaboration, which is one of the pillars of Vykrutas Ukrainian Dance Society.  In 2022, the devastation brought upon Ukraine and its people implored us to change the format of the performance to be a benefit concert for those affected by the war. Together, with Ukrainian and Polish dance groups of Edmonton and Calgary, we were able to raise over $20 000 that was distributed amongst three charities, which directly affected displaced Ukrainian families!

This year, Vykrutas is proud to present BRAVO! 2023 a benefit performance for Humanitarian Aid for Ukrainian families! The war is ongoing, the devastation and suffering still happens every day and we cannot simply stand by while this injustice is wrought upon Ukraine and its people. We will support Ukrainian culture, dance, art and history with our benefit performance!

BRAVO! 2023 will take place on May 20, 2023 at 7 pm at University Theatre in Calgary. This year, Vykrutas will be joined by Suzirya Ukrainian Dance Theatre (Calgary), Cheremshyna Ukrainian Dance Ensemble (Edmonton), Chumak II (Edmonton), Studia Shumka (Edmonton), Barvinok Ukrainian Dance Society (Calgary), Yalenka Ukrainian Dancers (Calgary), Junior Tryzub (Calgary), Polanie Polish Song and Dance Association (Calgary) and Viva Dance Company (Edmonton).
