Arrival Time: 11:30AM for everyone except Juniors (12:00PM for Juniors only)
Performance Time: 12:30PM-12:45 PM, 1:10-1:25 PM *not repeating anything, now performing 2 separate sets
IMPORTANT: If there is anything wrong (sickness, cannot make it on time, etc.) we urge you to PLEASE post in the class WhatsApp chat
When you arrive at the venue, please find your instructor near the changeroom area. We will have both male and female change room/green room areas available on-site. Then please change quickly into your costume. Your instructor has to go over your dance(s) with you before your performance.
Parking codes for the parkade was emailed to everyone (see "December Information" email). As parking space is limited, we kindly encourage carpooling whenever possible. Please do not share this code.
Parents are asked to stay close to help their dancer change in and out of their costume. Some dancers will need to change between dances.
The organizers have informed us that they will be providing food for the dancers at the event. We still encourage dancers to bring their own labeled water bottle and snacks as this will be a long day. Please do not eat in your costume.
Please be advised that our dancers are attending as performers and not as event guests. Kindly ensure they remain in the vicinity of the change rooms and refrain from participating in activities occurring elsewhere in the arena.

At some point during this event, parents are welcome and encouraged to take photos of their dancer(s). Please share photos and videos in the WhatsApp class chat or tag us on Instagram @vykrutas_calgary, so we can share your photos/videos with our followers! As soon as photos are finished, we request dancers change out of their costumes and back into their Vykrutas tshirt. Please do not eat in your costume.

Our performance at Bravo 2026 is on Saturday January 31 and this contains important information for the rehearsal and show. Please read all points carefully.
Please refer to the attached rehearsal schedule below. Arrival time for all Vykrutas dancers (Intermediates and Seniors) is 1:30pm University Theatre.
Costumes can be brought and stored in the designated change room (Seniors G117, Intermediates Doolittle theatre)
Pick up for intermediates is at 345pm after the full cast finale rehearsal. Intermediates need to return to the theatre by 6pm with hair and makeup completed.
Seniors can stay for the entire rehearsal.
Please ensure to bring all costume pieces, footwear, make up and hair items. Pack a labelled water bottle, snacks and supper or money to go on campus to purchase foods.
We are needing 5 parent volunteers from the intermediate group to be with the dancers during rehearsal time, 1:30-3:45pm, and backstage during the show from 545pm-10pm. Backstage volunteers are welcome to watch the rehearsal . Volunteers do not need a ticket for the show.
Parents, siblings and extended family watching the show are required to buy tickets.
If available to volunteer please respond to this email or let one of the instructors know your interest.

What to bring to BRAVO! Show day University Theatre, Saturday January 31, 2026
Arriving at the University of Calgary Theatre
• Address: 230 University Court NW
• Please arrive at 1:30pm
• Technical rehearsal from 2-2:30pm
• Full cast rehearsal 3:15-3:35pm
• Dinner break 5-5:45pm
• Dressing call (in assigned costume room) 5:45pm
Intermediate dancers
• Parents drop off their dancers at the University theatre at 1:30pm, and pick up at 3:45pm. Parents please return dancers to the University Theatre by 6pm to start changing into costumes.
• We are looking for 5 parent volunteers for intermediates. Parent volunteers will be supervising intermediates during the rehearsal (130pm-345pm) and again from 545pm until the end of the show. Parent volunteers do not need a ticket to the show as they will be watching from backstage. **Email the school if you'd like to be a volunteer. First 5 will be selected**
Parking
• Parking at Lot 3 ($6/hour, with daily max $24) or Art Parkade (Flat rate $12, with evening rate after 6pm $9).
Costumes
• Bring costumes when arriving at the theater for rehearsal time and store in designated change rooms • Please ensure all costumes, footwear and items are labeled
• For rehearsal, wear black Vykrutas T-shirt, black pants (boys), tan tights, skirt, bodysuit (girls).
• Note: Bravo t-shirt will be given out day of event for dancers to wear during the day
• Pack hair brush, bobby pins, hair spray. Girls please have hair parted down the middle, braided in two French braids, tucked and pinned off the neck.
• Pack extra safety pins for costumes. Pack stage makeup
Dinner - 5:00pm
• Please pack snacks and labeled water bottle for the day
• Dancers are responsible for their own dinner. Dinner can be packed or there are many restaurants on campus.
• Dinner break is from 5-5:45pm
Show - 7:00pm
• Dancers (performing in Bravo!) do not need tickets to the show
• Parents, siblings or extended family watching the show are required to buy tickets
• Tickets $45. Students (18 and under) $25

Please do not drop off your child only for the performance. Everyone will require a ticket to participate. Dancers cannot be unsupervised.
Attire: Semi Formal. Guests and dancers are asked to wear semi formal attire (dancers will change into their costume after dinner). It is also important to remember that dancers are NOT permitted to eat in their costume.
When you arrive at the venue, please check in at the front desk. Our volunteers will confirm your tickets and direct you to your table. Signs will be posted to the changeroom area where you can leave your costume bag to change later.

AT THE EVENT
After dancers perform their dance, they have to stay backstage until adjudication, when the judge gives them advice and mentions their medals. The dancers are all on stage for that and then after adjudication, the instructor or assistant instructor will lead the group back to the change area where the parents can pick up their dancer.

Audience members must be seated at all times while in the auditorium. The use of flash photography, video cameras, or any recording devices is strictly prohibited in the auditorium. Violators of this rule will be escorted out of the theatre. The participant(s) whose routine was recorded may be subject to disqualification. Arrival Time: Please arrive 1 hour before your first performance (Performance times: See schedule below for performance times)
Tickets: As per the package, tickets are purchased through Ticketmaster here or in person at the Jubilee Box Office before or during the festival. We recommend purchasing tickets in advance to ensure availability. Avoid third-party sellers—only purchase from Ticketmaster.ca to prevent scams.
Upon entering the building, all attendees (parents, siblings, family members) must exchange their tickets for a wristband at the Shumka Admissions Table, located in the main lobby of the Jubilee Auditorium. Performers and instructors do not need to pre-purchase tickets. Instructors will receive a complimentary wristband at the Shumka Admissions Table during sign-in, while performers will receive a stamp granting them access to the festival.
