Location: Telus Convention Centre: 136 8th Ave SE, Calgary, Alberta T2G 0K6 

Arrival Time: 11:30AM for everyone except Juniors (12:00PM for Juniors only)

Performance Time:  12:30PM-12:45 PM, 1:10-1:25 PM  *not repeating anything, now performing 2 separate sets

IMPORTANT: If there is anything wrong (sickness, cannot make it on time, etc.) we urge you to PLEASE post in the class WhatsApp chat 

When you arrive at the venue, please find your instructor near the changeroom area. We will have both male and female change room/green room areas available on-site. Then please change quickly into your costume. Your instructor has to go over your dance(s) with you before your performance. 

Parking codes for the parkade was emailed to everyone (see "December Information" email). As parking space is limited, we kindly encourage carpooling whenever possible. Please do not share this code.

Parents are asked to stay close to help their dancer change in and out of their costume. Some dancers will need to change between dances.

The organizers have informed us that they will be providing food for the dancers at the event. We still encourage dancers to bring their own labeled water bottle and snacks as this will be a long day. Please do not eat in your costume.

Please be advised that our dancers are attending as performers and not as event guests. Kindly ensure they remain in the vicinity of the change rooms and refrain from participating in activities occurring elsewhere in the arena.

Dancers are required to arrive wearing their black Vykrutas rehearsal wear including your black Vykrutas shirt. This helps our school look professional, helps organizers recognize us easily and gives our school free advertising! Girls, please arrive at the venue with your hair already french braided, pinned and hair sprayed. Please also make sure your stage makeup is completely done (mascara, eyeliner, blush, lipstick, and seniors fake eyelashes too).

PHOTOS 

At some point during this event, parents are welcome and encouraged to take photos of their dancer(s). Please share photos and videos in the WhatsApp class chat or tag us on Instagram @vykrutas_calgary, so we can share your photos/videos with our followers! As soon as photos are finished, we request dancers change out of their costumes and back into their Vykrutas tshirt. Please do not eat in your costume.

ARRIVAL

Date: Saturday, February 8, 2025

Location: Polish-Canadian Cultural Centre: 3015 15 St NE, Calgary, AB T2E 7L8

Arrival Time: (if you have dinner tickets) 5pm cocktails

Arrival Time (if you have zabava only tickets): 7:00pm (Performance time: 7:30pm)

Attire: Semi Formal. Guests and dancers are asked to arrive wearing their semi formal attire (not black rehearsal clothing, not wearing their costume). It is also important to remember that dancers are NOT permitted to eat in their costume.

When you arrive at the venue, please check in at the front desk. Our volunteers will confirm your tickets, give you a wristband and direct you to your table (or if you're coming after dinner, after receiving your wristband you'll be directed to the changeroom area). All guests and dancers will require a wristband.

ARRIVAL

Location: Webber Academy- 1515 93 St SW, Calgary, AB T3H 0L9

Arrival Time: 12:00pm (Performance time: 1:00pm set)

Parents: Please allow yourself extra time arriving to the event. Parking is free but it fills up quickly. Also, please bring cash only for entry to the concert hall.

When you arrive at the venue, please find the change room and change quickly into your costume. At the Webber Academy, the change room is the main gym. There will be signs directing you to the main gym when you enter the lobby of the concert Hall. The organizers label an area for us, you can change there. Your instructor has to go over your dance with you before you are ushered backstage. Backstage, only instructors and assistant instructors will be there to help.

AT THE EVENT

After dancers perform their dance, they have to stay backstage until adjudication, when the judge gives them advice and mentions their medals. The dancers are all on stage for that and then after adjudication, the instructor or assistant instructor will lead the group back to the change area where the parents can pick up their dancer.

Parents: All performers will be granted free entrance to the festival on the day that they perform. Parents/family accompanying their dancer(s) will require a wristband to get entry. If you purchased a weekend pass through us, we will have those available for pickup at the studio on Sunday June 1. If you didn't purchase a weekend pass, please purchase your entry ticket at the festival.
